The Journey
Having transitioned in my career, pottery has finally gotten a chance to be in my daily life. The pottery journey began 32 years ago in Charlotte N.C. as a result of a trip my now wife took me on while we were still dating. Her love and keen eye for pottery, especially the potters of Seagrove N.C., set the ball rolling on my creative passion. Love of pottery would lead to a gift of pottery lessons and so the journey began. Off to class I go, and the pottery addiction flourished. Having spent many hours throwing ugly pots and wobbly handles I’ve learned a lot. As one potter enthusiast from class said while battling the ugly pot, “oops it’s perfect.” Yes, it was perfect and it has become a theme ever since.
After moving to Saluda in Western N.C. 20 years ago we built the studio with a view of the mountains and having a dream of someday being able to concentrate on pottery. Celticpots was born, although it has been moving along at snail pace until now. The next journey is the creative one and a lot of “oops it’s perfect” pots.
